Stanmore Living Room | Quiet Luxury Transformation
This living room project was for a home in Stanmore, NSW, where my client felt completely stuck on how to bring the space together and what pieces to invest in. While the room had great bones, the layout presented a few challenges that made styling feel overwhelming.

One of the main issues was the angled fireplace, positioned in the corner of the room. This meant a standard rug size simply wouldn’t work and without a rug, the furniture felt disconnected and the room lacked a sense of cohesion.

To resolve this, we opted for a custom-sized rug, carefully adjusted to accommodate the angled fireplace. This single decision completely transformed the space. The rug finally allowed us to anchor the furniture, define the living zone, and ground the room visually instantly making it feel more considered and complete.

The brief for the space was quiet luxury understated, elegant, and timeless rather than showy. Many of the key pieces were selected from King Living and Coco Republic, balancing refined forms with soft textures and a calm, neutral palette.

The final result is a living room that feels beautifully resolved. A space that’s layered, balanced and inviting and one that now functions effortlessly, both visually and practically. A true example of quiet luxury done right.
